Millcreek Book Series

Historical Fiction Romance

In the waning years of the nineteenth century, Claire and Maggie, discontented with their roles in a Chicago saloon, stumble upon an unexpected opportunity. Fate grants them the keys to a jewelry shop, propelling them into a daring decision-to liberate the store of its wealth and embark on a westward journey for a fresh start. Their transient plans take an unforeseen turn during an overnight stop in Millcreek, Missouri. Claire, repeatedly crossing paths with the esteemed ranch owner, Will Carter, becomes entangled in unexpected connections. Meanwhile, Maggie becomes the nanny for the attractive widowed Reverend Myles.

Despite the carefully crafted facade concealing their past, Claire and Maggie realize that maintaining the illusion becomes increasingly complex. As they strive to build new lives, unforeseen challenges-a destructive fire, a corrupt sheriff, and the specter of blackmail-threaten to unravel the progress they so diligently pursue.

A Debt to Pay unfolds as a historical romance, a tapestry of fiction interwoven with themes of redemption and the transformative power of embracing a relationship with Jesus Christ. In the backdrop of a changing era, Claire and Maggie grapple with the consequences of their impulsive choices, striving for a chance at a brighter future amid the complexities of their intertwined destinies.

Maegan McCoy made a promise on her mother's deathbed-to protect her younger brother, Cody, at all costs. But when a violent brush with outlaws nearly costs Cody his life, Maegan desperately chooses to leave behind the chaos and seek refuge with family in Millcreek, Missouri. What she finds instead is a simmering family feud rooted in the ashes of the Civil War-and secrets that refuse to stay buried.

Sheriff Bridger is a steady hand in a town torn by old grudges, but Maegan's fragile sense of safety shatters when she witnesses a brutal murder. Bound by a vow of silence to protect Cody, she's thrust into a web of danger and distrust that threatens everything-including her growing feelings for the sheriff.

Meanwhile, sparks fly between Maegan's brother Austin and Alison, the sister of the local reverend. But when scandal and suspicion drive Austin from town, Alison is left with a broken heart and shaken faith.

In A Promise to Keep, two women must cling to faith as God weaves their stories together. Book two of the Millcreek Trilogy, beginning with A Debt to Pay, this suspense-filled journey explores the sanctifying trials of love, loyalty, and the unshakable promises of God amid the backdrop of the American frontier.

Some men go west to find gold. Some go to find the people they love. And some discover that what they're really searching for has been inside them all along.

Bounty hunter Sawyer McCoy didn't plan on riding to Deadwood. But when his youngest brother Cody goes silent for nearly a year after chasing gold in the Black Hills, Sawyer has no choice. He's going to find him - one way or another.

Scarlet Windsor is also headed to Deadwood, and she's out of time. Her abusive husband has vanished with her young son, and she will do whatever it takes to get him back. When a hotel fire throws Scarlet and Sawyer together, an unlikely alliance is born - two determined people who need each other more than either wants to admit.

Back in Millcreek, Lilly Myles has spent years quietly loving Cody McCoy. When her broken heart sends her toward Kansas City, a stagecoach robbery sets off a chain of events that lands her on the road to Deadwood as well. But the reunion she dreamed of isn't waiting for her there. Cody has changed. The mining town has swallowed him whole. And Lilly must face the hardest kind of faith - trusting God not just with her own future, but with the future of someone she loves.

Three journeys. One destination. And a reckoning none of them saw coming.

A Life to Gain is the third book in the Millcreek series - a sweeping historical fiction saga set in the late nineteenth century, rich with adventure, romance, and the enduring power of faith.
